Pleased to announce your board as elected a new board member – Donn Haviland – at it’s meeting last Monday, July 17.
Donn will be replacing Larry Rogers, who will be moving to North Carolina with his wife Cathy on August 1.
Donn and his wife Lisa are long time residents of Amelia Island and moved to Plantation Point over a year ago. Donn had a long distinguished career in the US Navy managing the nuclear power plants on our “BOOMER” submarine fleet out of Kings Bay. After the Navy he worked in the nuclear power industry where he still does some consulting work. He is also a Master Beer Brewer. Lisa spent many years teaching in the Fernandina Beach school system.
Words are hard to describe the outstanding contribution Larry and Cathy have made to our community over the years and they will be sorely missed. As you know, Larry has served on the board for many years managing our Maintenance and Security duties. He and Cathy were always contributing to PPCA from serving on the board, to planting trees and flowers and setting up our Little Library program to name a few. We wish them all the success in their new life in NC.
Please join me in welcoming Donn to his new position, and bidding farewell to Larry and Cathy – you will be sorely missed.
