There is a group back on the island doing smash and grabs. They attempt to access vehicles that are unlocked and steal items of value, even change in the cup holder.
If they see something of value such as a pocketbook they will smash a car window to steal the items. The latest incident of this happened downtown in broad day light.
The best defense is to lock your car even it is in your driveway.
Even if you lock your vehicle do not leave items of value where they can be seen.
