PPCA IRMA UPDATE 28Sep2017

Happy to report that Paul Manning has completed his clean up of our streets and circles today. There is one small pile on the MSC circle that he will get tomorrow and we have some trees down in the west pond to deal with later. Kudos again to Paul for the great job he and his crew have done.

He can be reached at 904-556-1179 if you need individual tree assistance.

There have been some concerns on the debris on A1A which obscure vision when exiting PPCA. This debris will be picked up by the county, but I do not have a time table on this. In the meantime please use extra caution when exiting on to A1A from PPCA.

As you all know the gate is now operating (fixed Monday).  The problem, as suspected was a bad PC board, in the entrance gate tower. Somehow water got into the electronics, fried the board and a new one was installed by FDC.

One concern I have is looking around the neighborhood I notice a lot of broken branches hung up in the trees that did not fall completely down. These are called “widow makers “ in the trade. Please look out for these and they should be taken care of ASAP, so no one is hurt later.  We have had an injury free Irma – lets keep it that way.

There is a broken lamp on the north entrance wall (removed) and Steve Placido has found a replacement match. This should be repaired in a week or so.

Otherwise things are getting back to normal and thanks again to all for your patience, help and understanding following IRMAS dance through Amelia Island. I have had several positive comments on how quickly PPCA recovered, especially compared to other communities.

Your BOD will meet this Thursday at 5 to discuss a host of issues relating to the storm, storm costs, 2018 budgets, infrastructure improvements etc. We have tentatively settled on November 19th as our annual meeting date and will confirm this after our BOD meeting next week along with details on the agenda.

Thanks to all and especially Rich Barber (our esteemed WEBMASTER) who helped keep us up to date with his community e mails and web postings – all the way from Buffalo NY.
